Soccer

had a bunch of pics of cole's soccer, just deleted them, must be too late,

catching up...still :)

More updating...won't wait this long again...ahh probably will.

Laura's neverevending bday, well not really, just posts on it. For her bday "party" I took her skating with Sarah and Emily, she loves to skate but we don't go often, so she fell a few times and hurt herself, but would get up and go again, no pics from that because I love skating and I wasn't taking my camera, we'll just have the memories...

On Monday she opened her presents from us....she got scriptures, then a big box, that had a smaller wrapped box, that had a smaller wrapped box, and so on (so much fun!)...she loves this. I did this for Cole with a gift card (cause the child loves money) and Laura LOVED it and asked me to do if for her and I did and she loved it and the earrings that were in the last box. She's been asking for a year to have her ears pierced, so we went for it. Right after she wasn't so happy, but it didn't take long to recover.

before
after, she smiled soon after this pic :)

and the last thing she opened was a card that told her clues to her last gift...a violin, we got it cheap (for a violin) and she was so excited, we went to look at them thinking I might get one for Hannah, but Laura was much more interested than Hannah and Hannah can grow into this one. We'll see how it goes.

and the real reason

for the mini wedding dress, cake and pics (yea I know),
the baptsim

Laura
had the talk with the parents
interview with Bishop
picked her songs, speakers
drueled over the thought of cake
and made an eternal covenant with her Heavenly Father
a lot for an eight year old. I'm fairly certain she doesn't fully understand past the cake, but I hope seeds were planted and that roots will grow firmly in good soil to produce a solid relationship wiht her Father in Heaven and a beautiful, happy life for her.

Laura has changed a lot over her small span of life..I think it took a year for her to really speak to her Sunbeam teacher. She's much better but still shy so she didn't want many people at her baptism. So it was an intimiate affair. Brandon baptised her, confirmed her with his dad and the Bishop. Mary made the beautiful, delicious cake.

I love the Walgreens photo clerk

and this redhead....
so due to some scheduling difficulties, rain, Laura being sick, etc. Lindsey Lou was not able to take pics of my sweet Laura Lou (one of her nicknames :) ) and at the last minute I found myself seeing what I could get. We did it just before Cole's soccer game in a neighborhood close to the soccer game that has a public landing, not that we didn't trespass property a small tidbit for one shot. Anyways, Laura was cooperative. And they turned out pretty good, but it really is hard to take a bad photo of the child.

...the walgreens photo clerk comes in where I sent in photos to be printed and when I go to pick them up, he says Ms. Porter I'm sorry we can't release these to you, they were taken by a professional, I literally bust out loud laughing. He has to call his manager over and I have to convince them both that I took the shots, I even pulled the my daugther is getting baptized today, I'm not lying card. Apparently they were stung by this and paid a hefty fine recently for something like this, but good on him for making a mom feel great!

You gotta love how her hair transitions throughout the shoot.

The blessing dress was literally a grab out of the closet as I'm running to the van idea, it sooo paid off.

more updating..oct

October was a big month for our family. Laura turned 8 and her grandparents who haven't missed a blessing or baptism yet, made the trek East to be with us and we had a great time. Here are some of our doings...Backwards, whatev! Cole's soccer game, we won and Rhoud was very impressed with the team and the coach, we really like our coach too, more on that later.

Susan, the girls and I made it down to the beach and Susan was such a good sport to venture out there with us, but she does have Idaho skin so we set up a shady spot for her.

Laura, Hannah and I made a sandman to represent their Daddy, hard to tell but he's there :).

We visited the stadium and ran (walked mostly) up the stairs, on the end zone, but there were some chicks taking names and kicking butt on those stairs.

Susan and Laura doing the chop and doesn't Rhoud just look like a head football coach? Not a nole fan though.
Rhoud and Brandon were supposed to go out deep sea fishing, but due to weather didn't make it. We hope to bait Rhoud back soon for that trip:).
We miss them, esp. Hannah, out of the blue the other day, Hannah said, mommy, I miss Daddy's mommy and daddy, they're funny! :). Yes, they are!
