Long Time No Blog

So I never said I would be perfect at this. To recap our lives the past month or so. We had a great Christmas. Visited with family mostly at our house which isn't typical and was nice for a change. A couple days after Christmas I realized I hadn't driven anywhere and that's definitely not par for the season.

Cole turned SEVEN!!!! I am amazed at how quickly time flies. I still remember him as my little baby, so sweet. Sweet still just not so little.

So what's happening now... I'm doing aerobics twice a week at church with our fabuloso instructor Marquesas, she kicks our rears, mine needs it. I'm trying to keep up with the blog :) and trying to find ways for our family to eat healthier, you know how things go, but I won't give up yet! I'm working at Target as a sunglasses vendor and I enjoy getting out of the house and LOVE going to Target....drooling along the way...they have great stuff!

Cole and Laura have started gymnastics again and for the most part enjoy it. Laura was excited about being out on the big floor but now realizes that the little room was more fun and less work. She's hanging in there though. Cole doesn't like his Saturday morning cartoons interrupted for gym but when he gets there he likes it. We got the little Gator up and running and the kids love it. Laura and Hannah especially.

Hannah and I have been going to baby storytime at the library and she likes the shakers and to watch the other kids do the actions to the songs, much like Cole and Laura used to. We are a family of watchers, okay not Brandon.

Brandon's working hard and sticking with a jam packed schedule as usual. He plays racquetball ever so often and sneaks in Halo occasionally, but mainly works and takes care of us.

It's more than noteworthy that the Prophet of the Church Gordon B. Hinckley passed away on Sunday. He was a great leader and will be missed beyond measure.

Tis the season

to be busy! There's shopping, parties, decorating, blogging :)....

Last weekend, we had the first of at least a couple of parties for Cole's birthday. He invited three people, one boy and two girls from school. We're appreciating the short guest list while it lasts. He and Brandon planned it which made for a more simple but great party. It was nice for me to not have to do it all and I think they had fun together putting it together. Brandon is so good about that kind of stuff.

We went to the temple today with our friends the Ricks and that was nice, it was busy there, we saw Sheri Dew and Elder Russell's wife in the parking lot (that's the extent of my lds celebrity sightings). We went to Brandon's work party tonight.


I tried putting up our outdoor Christmas lights on Thursday while Daddy G. visited and babysat the kids for me...Brandon was out of town and I was hoping to surprise him. He was surprised by the mess and no lights..not exactly but he'll have some tweeking to do to say the least.

Well I'm sure there's something else more exciting I should have blogged about, but it's later and that's what's in the brain. Aren't you glad you spent your time reading this?

I hope the season settles down for us all so we can enjoy instead of just endure it.

Fun?

This blog will probably be one more thing I don't get accomplished, but reading others it seemed like fun and a good way to keep others up to date. Supposedly a good way to archive too...?? Not sure how much I trust the internet to archive for me but since other methods aren't being too effective I'll try this. Maybe I'll print out what I write. I suppose the fact that others will be waiting with baited breath to hear about our lives will keep me on it, but hopefully not making up large tales to make us look cooler than we are. So I'll dive in and tell you what was eventful about today.



Laura asked Cole, what are you going to be when you grow up? Cole started to say a scientist then midway through was frustrated and said I want to be a lot of things when I grow up. Laura not really paying attention to his answer said I'm going to be whatever you're going to be. :)....

Then she said no I'm going to be a mermaid (Little Mermaid has found it's way into our lives with a big splash!). Of course Cole says you can't be a mermaid and Laura says yes I can and the debate ensued. It is so fun to watch the kids be kind and play together, there seem to be more of those moments than the less fun ones lately.



We put up our Christmas tree and the kids were super excited. We were talking about Santa coming and Laura said we wouldn't be able to light a fire in the stove so that Santa could come down and wouldn't Santa be so surprised to see our pretty tree. Cole has discovered the "truth" about Santa. He said a few months ago Santa couldn't be real because reindeer can't fly and he wouldn't be able to fit all the presents in the sleigh. We didn't perpetuate the "myth" and I'm sort of wishing we had. He's pretty excited about helping being Santa and he's really good about not revealing the "facts of life" to Laura. Hannah was asleep while we put up the tree so I can't wait to see her expression in the morning.



I don't think I'm supposed to say this much in one blog. I'm still learning the ropes. Hope everyone is well and is as excited about Christmas as I am!!!!
